Join Us at AARP's Getaway 5k/10k
at Cherry Creek State Park on September 10th
AARP believes that an active lifestyle and healthy living are important at any age and is proud to present the Getaway 5K/10K, September 10, at Cherry Creek State Park in Aurora. A registration discount is available to AARP members and donations will be contributed to the Friends of Colorado State Parks!
This experience is designed for the entire family. No matter what your age, you’re sure to have a good time. The event will feature a 10K (added for Denver), 5K, a one-mile walk and a fun run designed especially for the kids. You can run, walk or skip the course. It doesn’t matter as long as you’re moving! Or further support the Friends of Colorado State Parks and volunteer to help us at our water station!
And Then Come On Back to Cherry Creek State Park for the Outdoor Adventure Expo on 9/23 and 9/24!
Calling All Friends Groups!
Save the date for Colorado Parks and Wildlife's inaugural
Outdoor Adventure Expo at Cherry Creek State Park, September 23-24, 2017. CPW is advertising this Expo as THE place to try out all of the recreational activities that Colorado has to offer in one weekend!
Attendees will be able to choose from a range of activities including archery, biking, fishing, OHV rides, paddleboarding, rock climbing, sailing, shooting, and more! Entry to the park will be free and attendees will enjoy food trucks and a wide array of outdoor recreation exhibitors and vendors who will share their expertise and passion for getting outside.
CSP Friends will have a booth at the Expo and we'd love for Friends groups across Colorado to join us at the booth for a few hours to help promote your Friends group and volunteer opportunities at your state park. Booth dates and hours are as follows:
Saturday, September 23rd 9 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 24th 9 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a time.
We also plan to showcase success stories from Friends groups. Even if you can't attend the Expo, please email us a short success story and a photo of an event, project, or fundraising win that you're proud of so we can create a collage of awesome examples of how Friends groups support our public lands and park visitors.
